Rebirth, the four teachers, and what every Seraph Point costs.
Seraph is a rebirth. You give up your level and start over from the beginning, and in exchange you come back with a higher set of base stats and a handful of Seraph Points to spend on your character. This page is the old Bible's Seraph article, with Colosseum's own numbers in it.
When you Seraph you are reborn with a certain number of Seraph Points (SP) and a set of Base Stats. You can get the values from the table below.
Your base health and mana will always be 78hp and 39mp. But after you get your first level you have the benefit of the higher base stats, and that shows in everything: stronger damage with spells at the same level, stronger weapons at earlier levels, and faster point gain with hp and mp.
There are four different teachers in a dark room. You need to talk to Alphan first, or you will not be able to talk to the teachers. The teachers are:
Delaan, he teaches Resistances. From the entrance: right, then left.
Epilan, he raises base hp/mp. From the entrance: right, then right.
Then you go back to Alphan and tell him you are ready to start. You will be teleported to Lighthaven again, and you must do all the quests again.
Stat points and hp/mp are not a very interesting bonus next to elemental power and resistances. They are what you buy with whatever is left over, not what you plan a rebirth around.
Resistances are the cheapest thing in the room. Every step costs the same two points and the price never goes up, so a first rebirth's ten points buy +50 to one resistance, half again on top of the 100 every Seraph already carries. Elemental power gets dearer as you go, but the early steps are cheap and ten points still reach +20 to one power.
Against that, ten points spent with Betran are +5 in a single stat, and you gain stat points from levelling anyway. Ten spent with Epilan are +100hp and +50mp, which helps through the first levels but is a flat, one-off number that never scales: by the time you are back at the level you came from it is a rounding error, while the higher base stats you were given at rebirth keep paying.
